It is no surprise that Android smartphones consume a lot of battery power and some devices simply can’t be used since they have horrible standby time. Google has paid close attention to this problem and has implemented different methods to increase Android battery life such as Doze in Android Marshmallow.
The battery life of a smartphone depends upon the user as well. With simple yet effective techniques you can drastically increase your smartphone’s battery life. So without further ado, let’s get started.
10 Tips To Save Android Battery Life
1. No more auto brightness
Stop using auto brightness (also known as adaptive brightness in some models). Auto brightness usually keeps the screen brightness at a much higher level than is normally required. By setting it manually at a lower level, you can save a ton of Android battery life.
2. Darker themes
Nowadays, several Android smartphones use AMOLED displays, since they consume no power to display true black shade. So use a darker theme if your smartphone has an AMOLED display.
3. Black Wallpaper
This one is similar to the previous tip. Use a black wallpaper in case your smartphone’s display uses AMOLED technology. You should use a true black wallpaper (search on Google for such wallpapers) since it takes absolutely no power to display “true black” pixels.

4. Doze
This is a new feature implemented in Android Marshmallow. This feature is enabled by default, which stops all app services for a certain period of time after it is in standby mode. This helps save the battery as less CPU power is used.
However, apps which haven’t been updated might not use this feature; you can check that from the settings menu and then take necessary action for those apps (probably replace them with a better alternative).
5. Turn off vibration
This feature has been a severe battery drainer even for feature phones. Turn off both vibration and haptic feedback to prevent battery drain.
6. Reduce screen timeout
Set a screen timeout of 15 seconds, since lesser the screen timeout, better your battery life will be.
7. Turn off unnecessary features
Nowadays, most Android smartphones come bloated with various features most of which have no practical use to the average user. So stop using features like air gestures, smart scrolling etc.
8. Uninstall rogue apps
Some apps aren’t optimized properly and use a lot of battery life. You can check which apps use the most battery power from the battery option in the settings menu and uninstall those apps and look for more efficient alternatives.
9. Use Greenify if rooted
Greenify is one of the most effective apps for saving battery. When the phone screen turns off, instead of stopping all apps, it puts them into hibernation mode. In this way, the app continues to function as normal but prevents battery drain when screen is off. It only works on rooted phones though.

10. Turn off connectivity features
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS use a lot of battery, and most people keep them on all the time even if they don’t use it always. So make sure that you turn these off whenever not required.
