Uninstall Windows Update
The Windows Not Genuine message keeps popping up because of the Windows Update KB971033. To get rid of the notification, you will first have to uninstall the update. Do not worry; this will not affect anything on your computer. Here’s how to uninstall this update.

Go to the Windows Update

On the bottom left corner, you will find a link Installed Updates. If you do not see this link, click on the View Update History. This will open up a new window. Click the Installed Updates tab which is present on the top of the window.

Now scroll down the window and look for the section titled Microsoft Windows. Find the update number KB971033

Right click on this with your mouse and click on Uninstall.

Once you have done this, you will need to Reboot your system
Rearming Windows

Once you have restarted your system, go to the Start menu and type ‘cmd’ in the search bar.

Click on OK and Run CMD as administrator.

After this the Command Prompt screen will appear.

Type slmgr.vbs –rearm and press enter.

Wait for five minutes

A small message window will pop up reading ‘Command completed successfully. Please restart the system for changes to take effect.’

Also, do not forget to turn off the Windows Update notification to avoid such notifications in future.

Now reboot your system
