Step 1: Switch off your PC and unplug it from all kinds of power sources.
Step 2: After this, you have to remove the cabinet of the system. For this, you might require a screwdriver to open all the four screws on the cabinet. Open the computer case and keep it on a solid and smooth surface. The motherboard should be facing up towards. It will help in easy removal and the fixation of RAM
Step 3: While performing all these acts, make sure that you do not wear any woolen clothes and do not touch the carpet on your floor as all these things cause serious harms to computer internals. If required, you can use rubber footwear or a wrist band which can be used to prevent static discharge.
Step 4: Generally in motherboards, there are 2 to 4 memory slots located on the right hand side. It will be identical to your purchased RAM. Hence, they will be quite an easy to recognize. Now, you will have to release the chip by pushing the clamps in your motherboard. Generally on each RAM end chip there is one clamp. With this, you will be able to remove the old memory. You should hold RAM only from the ends and not touch it with your hands as it will not be appropriate for the functioning of the hardware. Read new instructions, if available on your product.
Step 5: In each memory slot of RAM, there is a notch. Hold the RAM carefully through ends and match the notches of the motherboard with the notches of RAM. After this, you are required to push the clamp gently towards the chip. If it does not fit properly, then try to fit it again but try this gently. Do not apply force on it. After this, if you have another chip, you are required to repeat the previous steps for installing the RAM chip.
Step 6: After this, the most vital part is to clean the dust from your CPU. For this, you can use the compressed air pressure. Then, you are required to tighten the screws of cabinet and reassemble the whole machine by connecting the wires of monitor, mouse, printer, keyboard and any other hardware attached to it.

Now, it’s the time to check the efficiency of system after installing RAM. If your system works faster, then it means that RAM has been installed properly. Finally, you can press and hold the Windows button and then press Break/Pause button on the right corner of your keyboard and it will display the amount of RAM installed on your computer.
